THE ENTITY FORMERLY KNOWN AS NIGERIA
A Declaration of Force Majeure Over an Inherited Existence
An inquiry into Nigeria as an inherited political arrangement and the consequences of that inheritance for the peoples contained within it. Through the metaphor of civilizational force majeure, the paper proposes an interval for recovering selfhood, reconsidering inherited categories, and restoring the authority to determine the terms of political association. At its center is a proposition: epistemic sovereignty must precede territorial sovereignty.
